RON KOUDYS

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Ron Koudys is the founder and President of Ron Koudys Landscape Architects Inc., one of Southwestern Ontario’s leading firms. Over nearly five decades, he and the RKLA team have helped shape close to 6,000 projects in Canada and abroad. A landscape architect, educator and mentor, Ron holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, a Master of Education and a Doctor of Design. He is a Fellow of both the CSLA and ASLA and has contributed nationally to professional standards and certification. His work is grounded in stewardship, lasting value and the belief that thoughtful landscapes enrich people and communities.

MARTHA BERKVENS

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

OALA, CSLA, RLA (Michigan)

Martha is a landscape architect and project manager whose keen eye for detailed design and creativity has been recognized with a multitude of industry awards. Martha has played a leading role in the design of many large-scale projects including hospitals complexes, school campuses, recreation centers/parks, residential developments and industrial parks. Her particular area of expertise is in developing sustainable landscape solutions for LEED projects – a talent that has earned her Platinum and Gold Certifications for many of her projects.

BARRY MURPHY

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

OALA, CSLA

Barry is a senior landscape architect and project manager who manages a large portfolio of RKLA clients, including some of the country’s top land developers and corporations. His approachable demeanor and dedication to meeting clients needs are traits that have put him in a leading role within our design team. Many of his projects involve working with large private sectors and municipal developments, ranging from commercial plazas and hospitals to residential subdivisions and urban streetscapes.

JOCELYN MORRIS

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

BA, MLA, OALA, CSLA, CCPI

Jocelyn joined RKLA in 2009, bringing extensive experience in parks, streetscapes, and nature play design. She leads RKLA’s nature play initiatives, working with school boards across southwestern Ontario to create engaging outdoor learning environments. Trained in CAN/CSA-Z614, she has extensive experience in technical drawings, specifications, and construction coordination. She collaborates with contractors, architects, municipalities, and communities, integrating public consultation and stakeholder feedback into practical design solutions.

STEVE BYRNE

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT / TECUMSEH OFFICE

BLA, OALA, CSLA

Steve is a Landscape Architect and Manager of RKLA’s Tecumseh office, with a background in design, project management, and construction. Since rejoining RKLA in 2021, he has led public and private projects, including parks, streetscapes, schools, and residential developments. His expertise spans all project phases, from conceptual design and public consultation to construction. He brings a practical, construction-focused approach, coordinating with municipalities, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to create functional, durable, and engaging public spaces.

KATIE GARRETT

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/ CERTIFIED ARBORIST

BLA, OALA, ISA, TRAQ

Katie is a Landscape Architect and ISA Certified Arborist, bringing an integrated perspective to landscape design and arboriculture. She leads the office’s arboricultural practice, providing expertise in tree assessment, preservation, and management throughout the design and development process. She combines her knowledge of landscape design, planting, and tree health to develop thoughtful, functional, and resilient landscapes, collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, and municipalities to create solutions that respond to both the site and its surrounding environment.

KRIS BUJOLD

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE TECH.

Diploma in Architectural Technology

Kris brought his architectural technology background and precise drafting skills to RKLA in 2005. He drives drawing production and coordination for the urban design team, handles project management communications, and maintains the firm’s standard templates and details. Known for providing reliable technical support, Kris is equally passionate about mentorship and education, having taught industry standard courses at both Fanshawe College and Landscape Ontario.

MAURICIO PAVEZ

LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Adv. Dip. in Landscape Design / Dip. Cultural Management

Mauricio is a Landscape Designer with an Advanced Diploma in Landscape Design from Fanshawe College. Originally from Chile, he also has studies in Architecture and a diploma in Cultural Management. His multidisciplinary background brings together design, culture, and a strong interest in how people experience and connect with the landscape. At RKLA, Mauricio contributes creative thinking, technical expertise, visualization skills, and a collaborative approach to every project.

DANIEL CASTIBLANCO

Daniel’s passion for landscape architecture began at an early age, leading him to earn an Advanced Diploma in Landscape Design from Fanshawe College and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design and Planning. Currently pursuing a Master of Landscape Architecture at UBC, he remains involved with RKLA through part-time work. His interests focus on climate adaptation, urbanization, and natural ecosystems, exploring how resilient design can connect communities with nature and create more sustainable environments..

CAMILA CORREA

LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Adv. Dip. in Landscape Design / B. Des. Industrial Design

Camila is a Landscape Designer who studied Landscape Design at Fanshawe College and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Chile. Her multidisciplinary background combines creativity, technical development, and visualization with a strong interest in how people experience outdoor spaces. She believes successful landscapes invite people to relax, gather, play, or reflect, while remaining engaging and meaningful even when experienced from a window.
